Austin LaPiana

Austin graduated with his B.S. and M.S. degrees at NC State University, where he studied various fields of biotechnology and biomanufacturing. He specializes in molecular cloning and cell line development for the production of biologics. During his M.S. curriculum, he worked at Biogen as part of their Antibody Discovery and Gene Therapy departments. Austin joined the Barouch lab in July 2023 as a Research Assistant II in the Virology group with the prospect of pursuing a PhD. In his free time, he enjoys deep diving into new music, skiing, and playing video games.
