Francisco Armando Granados-Contreras
Armando received his BSc. in Biotechnology Engineering, with a minor in Molecular Biology, from Tecnológico de Monterrey in June 2023. During his junior year, Armando collaborated in the lab of Dr. Grisel Fierros-Romero at his home institution, working in the characterization of heavy metal-resisting bacteria from volcanic zone samples. Later, he joined Dr. Igor Kovalchuk’s lab at University of Lethbridge as part of a Mitacs Globalink Research Internship, were he worked on the analysis of transcriptomic data. During his senior year, he joined Dr. Vicki Kelley’s lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital as a research trainee, focusing on the elucidation of molecular mechanisms of kidney injury using mouse models.
Driven by a big interest for immunology and molecular biology, he joined the Barouch Lab in October 2023, where he will be working in the mRNA group. Outside of the lab, Armando enjoys cooking, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, reading, and finding the best eateries in Boston.
