Liping Wang, PhD

Liping joined Barouch lab in 2023. Her PhD degree was obtained in University of Missouri. Liping is fascinated with virology. Her doctoral research focused on understanding the molecular factors that hinder the reassortment between the novel bat influenza viruses and conventional influenza A viruses. She also isolated and characterized multiple reassorted mammalian orthoreoviruses from bats and pigs in the USA during her PhD training. Liping is currently exploring the strategies to improve mucosal immunity of vaccines for respiratory diseases, including flu and COVID-19. In her spare time, she likes running, cooking and reading.
